Australian Component Added to Himalayan Literature Festival

The Himalayan Literature Festival expands its international reach with an Australian component, bringing Australian literary voices into the festival.

The international literary program at the Himalayan Literature Festival is being further enhanced through the inclusion of an Australian component through participation of an array of Australian writers.

This component is being facilitated by Dr. Sharon Rundle, who has been asked to facilitate the Australian program with the participation of writers like Prof. Bem Le Hunt, Sri Lanka-Australian author Devika Brendon, Fiona MacDonald, Uma Srinivasan, Manisha Amin, Julia MacKay-Koelen, Indra Bengal Halder, Susanne Gervay OAM and Dr Sharon Rundle.

It will seek to increase literary interactions between Australia, Nepal, and other regions, as well as bringing writers from different cultural and migratory backgrounds together. It also sheds light on some preexisting Indo-Australian literary collaborations, which include anthologies that have been jointly edited by Meenakshi Bharat and Sharon Rundle.

The Himalayan Literature Festival and Writers' Workshop has become an international event, with participants comprising writers, poets, translators, academics, and artists from Asia, Europe, North America, Africa, and Australia.
